The story behind the design of the RememBears® by Peaceful Journey/End-of-Life:
I personally discovered the memory bear when it was given to me after my fathers' death from lung cancer. After 'dad' died I wanted a particular shirt of his that he always wore. Prior to his death, my mother would complain about the shirt, "I'm going to burn that darn thing one of these days!"
So, naturally after his death, I wanted THAT shirt! However, the shirt was nowhere to be found among his things. The first Christmas following his death, my sister-in-law presented all of his children (9) with a 'memory bear' made out of dads' shirts. Each bear was customized for us and my bear was made from the shirt that I had been looking for! My sister-in-law had no idea that I wanted that specific shirt, but here it was on my bear with my name on it! I cannot explain the amount of comfort I have received from that bear in the last 5 years….

Why a RememBear or RememPillow and how can it help?
A RememBear® is huggable, physical comfort in helping to cope with the grieving process, relieving the pain, loneliness or 'ache' of missing someone for all ages, children through adults. It is a connection, a reminder, or memory that you can reach out and touch or hug.
What is the RememBear® or RememPillow®?
RememBear's® or RememPillow's® are special teddy bears or pillows made for adult and children family members, friends or a special someone as a lasting link, special memory and visible connection to that someone who has gone from this life. "I remember when grandpa/grandma, mom or dad wore this!"
Who makes the RememBear®?
I construct the RememBear® or RememPillow® personally from fabric supplied by you, family or friends who have a special article of clothing; a loved one's favorite sweatshirt, jeans, t-shirt, suit and tie, a well loved bathrobe, blankets or other items that hold a special memory to you.
How can I get a RememBear®r or RememPillow®?
Send us your favorite clothing item(s) and in return receive a bear or pillow made from the clothing. If you do not have a clothing item, send us an idea for the fabric design, i.e. hunting, fishing, dolls, animals, flower, etc; to use in designing a bear or pillow for you.
For each bear please send a minimum of clothing, i.e. (2) shirts, (1) pair of pajamas, (1) robe (1) blanket. For each pillow, (1) adult size piece of clothing or (2) children's articles.
